Testimonials

Over 150 amazing reviews all over the internet!

My daughter and I have been going to Dixita for the past 3 years. Wouldn't go anywhere else. She is extremely flexible with her timings. Works within your budget. Her designs are AMAZING. She works neatly and quickly. I love that she uses natural henna and results have always been great. She goes the extra mile to apply oils and sugar water to make sure henna is lasting. ❤

We wanted to try something different this year for my daughter's 4th birthday party. The Henna tattoos where a hit with all of our guests. We originally thought only the kids would get in the fun but the adults also got into the fun. Dixita was accommodating when I asked if she could stay an extra hour. Loved that she has books full of her past work to choose from. She also did designs that some of our guests got online. Overall it was such a great experience. Definitely recommend and we will definitely be having Dixita back for our future parties. The pictures are from after the party. The design definitely got darker the following day.

Love love love my Henna by Dixita. She's extremely talented. Dixita took her time in creating a masterpiece on my hands. I absolutely recommend getting your henna done by Dixita.... you won't regret it. She's so accommodating of my schedule and fit me in last minute so I'm so thankful.

Your Questions, Answered

Sequence of four images showing black and orange henna designs on a hand, labeled with different hour markers: 1 hour, 18 hours, 48 hours, and 60 hours.
  • Henna is a natural paste made from the leaves of the Lawsonia inermis plant. The dried leaves are crushed into a fine powder and mixed with natural ingredients like lemon juice and essential oils to create a paste used for temporary body art.

  • Henna stains the outer layer of the skin using a natural dye molecule called lawsone. It binds with the skin over time, which is why the paste needs to stay on for several hours. Heat and time help deepen the stain, which develops from a light orange to a rich reddish-brown color.

  • For best results, leave the henna paste on for at least 4–6 hours or overnight.
The longer it stays, the darker the stain.

    • The paste dries in about 15–20 minutes

    • A lemon-sugar sealant can help keep it in place longer

    • Avoid washing the area for at least 12–24 hours after removal

The stain continues to darken over the next 24–48 hours.

  • Henna typically lasts 10 days to 2 weeks, depending on skin type and aftercare.
It fades naturally as the skin exfoliates.

    To make it last longer:

    • Avoid excessive water (especially pools/ocean)

    • Use natural balms or oils to protect the stain

    • Wash and gently exfoliate your skin

    • Avoid lotions, oils, or spray tans

    • Wear loose clothing to prevent smudging

  • Henna stains darkest on thicker skin:

    • Hands (palms especially)

    • Feet

Areas like arms or legs may appear lighter.

  • Yes, natural henna is safe for both children and pregnant women when made without chemicals.

  • No, results vary based on:

    • body temperature

    • skin type

    • lifestyle

Even with the same paste, two people may get different results. This is normal with natural products.

  • Henna fades naturally, but you can speed it up by:

    • exfoliating with soap and a washcloth

It may still take a few days to fully disappear.

  • Henna is not a tattoo.
It does not penetrate the skin and involves no needles.

It is simply applied on the surface and feels cool and relaxing during application.

  • “Black henna” is not real henna. It often contains a chemical called PPD (used in hair dyes), which can cause:

    • burns

    • rashes

    • scarring

Natural henna only stains orange to reddish-brown, never black.

Let’s make your day special.
